The conclusion of summer and the start of senior year

The years wash over us like rainstorms and waves, so live in the moment. I look back at my summer and my past 3 years in college and look forward to this coming school year.

Testing out the 'jump' feature. Read the rest after the break.

Oh how the years go by. It really feels like it hasn't been much more than a blink of an eye since I was moving in for my first year of college. Watching all the freshman parents' cars on the quad hauling their various trinkets and wants and needs to an unknown new world really brings me back. As the years go on, the world becomes less magical and fun, and you become less and less naive about the reality of the world. In short, your inner child begins to wither. As much as I try, for most of the school year I'm toiling away at schoolwork, trying to stay afloat in the various projects and teams I'm involved with. This leaves little time for socializing and having fun in the normal sense. Being my last year here as an undergrad I'd like to make it somewhat different than my past years and be a bit more free and let my inner child out more often. I will still need to be professional when necessary (esp at presentations and whatnot), but I have been far too stern and serious in the past, and I feel like it has been to my detriment.

Quick summer recap:
  • Summer Training commences and goes well.
  • Worked internship @FDA.
  • Went to China after getting my hip/IT injured in mid-July. Ate good food, celebrated my grandma's 80th, checked out the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xian, went to the world expo in shanghai.
  • Returned from china rather jetlagged, and started preseason in rather poor aerobic shape
  • Found out I have an anterior rotated left pelvis. Worked to fix that while getting in shape
  • Fixed pelvis over the course of a week.
  • David Rudisha break WR in the 800!
  • Fitness seems to be returning quickly, hooray.
  • School starts today.
Pictures coming.
Also, finally got a meal plan set up. Apparently I didn't have one will today. Ice cream at the FFC, here I come!
